Health Insurance FAQ's
What is a Copay?
The total amount of money, determined by your insurance plan each year, that you must pay ALONG WITH what your insurance will cover. (Copays can range, on average, from $10-$50.)
What is a Deductible?
The total amount of money, determined by your insurance plan each year, that you must pay FIRST BEFORE your insurance will cover the remaining costs. (I.e. $500 deductible means you must first pay $500 of your services billed until the insurance will cover the costs.)
What is a Coinsurance?
The percentage of money, determined by your insurance plan each year, that you must pay ALONG WITH what your insurance will cover. (Note: a coinsurance can also apply after a deductible is met.)
Always contact your health insurance provider directly to understand your individual plan details and patient responsibility.
